Kentucky Governor Ernie Fletcher visits U.S. Consul General Matthew Rooney in Munich. Governor Fletcher is on an economic development trip to Europe, along with Secretary of Economic Development Gene Strong and Commissioner for New Business Development John McCarty. “Kentucky has long had a European presence, established in 1978 to help identify business opportunities within Europe,” said Governor Fletcher. "Our goal is twofold: we want to encourage new businesses to invest in Kentucky, and we also want to seek more export opportunities to the European market.” During the trip the governor met with German companies as well as the Bavarian Minister for the Economy.
