The Marines Detachment


November 11, 2006.
Munich’s Marine Security Detachment celebrated the 231st birthday of the U.S. Marine Corps in Consul General Nelson's residence. Since the United States Marine Corps' establishment in 1775, Marines across the globe celebrate the Marine Corps' birthday. Among their many other duties, members of the U.S. Marine Corps guard U.S. embassies and consulates around the world.
