NATO Orientation Program for Bavarian Journalists
The journalists in front of an AWACS plane


December 13-15, 2005.
Journalists from regional media in the Munich and Frankfurt consular districts visited Geilenkirchen, home to NATO's Airborne Early Warning and Control Force. The journalists are on the tarmac in front of an AWACS plane that provides strategic aid surveillance as well as airspace management, air policing and combat search and rescue. The group then continued to Brussels for briefings at the United States Mission to NATO and the European Union and to NATO's military headquarters in Mons.
