Global Competency Counts

Consul General Nelson with students

September 29, 2006.
Consul General Eric Nelson met with some 40 students of the Junior Year in Munich program and briefed them about activities of the consulate in Munich and about services the consulate offers to U.S. citizens. Established in 1931 and re-opened by Wayne State University in 1953, the Junior Year in Munich is America's oldest study abroad program in Germany. For more than 50 years, the Junior Year in Munich has made it possible for students from U.S. colleges and universities to promote international friendship through student interchange at the Ludwig Maximilians University of Munich. Since 1953, 3500 students from 500 US colleges and universities have gained global competency through Junior Year in Munich.
